Collaboration for development of Medical & Paramedic Education & Training

Karachi, 11 December — SIUT Trust Partners with Edhi Foundation to Enhance Medical and Technical Education

SIUT Trust announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Edhi Foundation, establishing a strategic partnership to boost cooperation in undergraduate medical and technical education. This initiative will operate through Sindh Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS)-SIUT, a degree-awarding institute recognized by HEC.

Dr. Adib Rizvi, Founder of SIUT, and Mr. Faisal Edhi, CEO of Edhi Foundation, formally signed the MoU. The agreement marks a major step in expanding educational opportunities and promoting collaborative development.

SIUT and the Edhi Foundation share a long history of humanitarian service. In 2014, the Foundation donated PKR 100 million to renovate an operation theatre, creating the Abdul Sattar and Bilquees Edhi Transplant OT Complex. The Foundation also supplied eight ambulances and two loaders, which continue to transport critically ill patients free of cost.

Pakistan currently faces rising inflation, making healthcare and education increasingly costly for many families. Despite these challenges, SIUT has committed itself to providing free, high-quality medical services for over five decades.

This MoU builds on the shared legacy of serving humanity. It aims to provide students with modern learning tools, exposure to emerging technologies, and practical clinical training. Through this partnership, SIUT and the Edhi Foundation aim to strengthen capacity, develop future leaders, and support sustainable progress in Pakistan’s healthcare and education sectors.
