Veteran actor Adnan Siddiqui’s Cereal Productions will release a new drama serial by the name of ‘Ghughi’, on TV One this month. This drama serial is based on a novel, which is written by eminent Punjabi writer Amrita Pritam. The screenplay for ‘Ghughi’ is written by Amna Mufti and is directed by Iqbal Hussain.

“The serial shall be based on Amrita Pritam’s despair account of the massacre during the 1947’s Partition. She vehemently spoke about the violence against women of all caste and creed leading to a total disbelief in the word ‘humanity’.” This unique play depicts the period between 1946-1947. ‘Ghughi’ is an intense love story, which is hampered by a kidnapping; the play aims to depict a romance saga between a Muslim and Hindu with all the fears, differences and morals at stake.
