First-ever official representation from Pakistan at FC Barcelona’s base camp marks a new chapter in South Asia’s connection with global football.
Begin, the official streaming partner of LaLiga in Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, has announced that acclaimed Pakistani content creator Irfan Junejo will represent Pakistan. He will participate in an exclusive pre–El Clásico media opportunity with FC Barcelona players.
The interviews will be filmed at the club’s base camp in Barcelona. They take place ahead of the world’s most anticipated football rivalry, El Clásico.
This event marks the first time a Pakistani creator has officially met and interviewed FC Barcelona players. It symbolizes a breakthrough for local creators and South Asian football fans. Full interviews will be available exclusively on the Begin app. Fans can witness never-before-seen insights and conversations with some of the biggest names in global football.
Irfan Junejo is one of Pakistan’s most influential digital storytellers. He is known for authentic travel, lifestyle, and sports content that resonates with youth across the region. His participation highlights Begin’s commitment to celebrating local voices on international stages. In this experience, football, culture, and storytelling come together.
Reflecting on the opportunity, Irfan said:
“Ronaldinho was the player who made me fall in love with football. I’ve been a Barcelona supporter ever since I started watching the sport. Getting this opportunity feels surreal. For a lifelong Barça fan like me, meeting and speaking with the players I grew up admiring is beyond words. I’m grateful and excited to represent Pakistan in this moment.”
This initiative comes from Begin’s landmark partnership with LaLiga. The platform has secured exclusive streaming rights for all LaLiga matches across Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka for five years.
The collaboration redefines how fans in South Asia engage with European football. They experience not just live matches but also behind-the-scenes content, creator-led storytelling, and local-language narratives.
Jonathan Mark, Co-Founding CEO of Begin, said:
“Our partnership with LaLiga goes beyond broadcasting; it’s about cultural connection. Football is a universal language. By sending Irfan Junejo to Barcelona, we give millions of South Asian fans a voice in that global conversation. This is a proud moment for Begin and a reminder of what’s possible when global partnerships meet local passion.”
Through collaborations like this, Begin continues to build a vibrant sports and entertainment ecosystem. The platform also hosts Begin Originals and regional exclusives, including Pakistan Idol and other productions that showcase South Asian talent for global audiences.
