Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Refutes Claims Linking Aryan Khan’s Series to Cruise Raid

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s production company, Red Chillies Entertainment, has strongly opposed the defamation case filed by IRS officer Sameer Wankhede in the Delhi High Court. Wankhede alleged that Aryan Khan’s upcoming Netflix series, The Ba**ds of Bollywood*, contains a scene that “mocks” him and harms his reputation. He filed the lawsuit in September 2025 and demanded an injunction to stop the show from streaming on Netflix. His plea also names Aryan Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri Khan, Red Chillies Entertainment, and Netflix.

Red Chillies categorically denied the accusations, stating that the series is pure fiction and has no link to the 2021 Cordelia cruise case, which previously put Aryan Khan in the spotlight. The production house argued that Wankhede has frequently spoken publicly about the case and cannot expect creators to avoid portraying powerful authority figures simply because depictions may appear unflattering.

Represented by senior advocate Neeraj Kishan Kaul, Red Chillies further told the court that Wankhede has misinterpreted the content. The company clarified that the show uses satire and exaggerated storytelling, which is a common creative device, and does not target Wankhede or recreate the NCB raid. Kaul emphasized that creative works often draw loose inspiration from real-life dynamics, but that does not make them defamatory.
