Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone were recently to be getting engaged on Deepika's birthday which the alleged couple spent together in Maldives. The two sported gorgeous sun tans and were spotted arriving from the exotic beach destination together. While Ranveer hasn't put a ring on Deepika's finger as per rumours, speculations of Ranveer's parents gifting Deepika something extraordinary have been rife. A leading media portal reported that Ranveer's parents showered Deepika with lavish gifts on her birthday. A source told the "Deepika was gifted an expensive diamond set and a Sabyasachi sari by Ranveer's family. Her happiness knew no bounds. This was indeed a special occasion for the actress." Incidentally, Deepika's father Prakash Padukone had already given his consent to their relationship. When Ranveer called his daughter "marriage material" on a chat show, the former badminton player said, "As a father, I have given Deepika the freedom to take her own decisions. Even in this case, she is free to decide whatever she wants to do." Earlier it was also reported that Ranveer and Deepika's families also accompanied the Bollywood couple to Maldives which further gave rise to engagement rumours.
