From reality shows to making public appearances together, Ashmit Patel and Maheck Chahal have been quite open about their relationship by far. Taking it to the next level, Ashmit recently popped the question to Maheck and the couple is all set to kick off the marriage preps. But while we leave them to make the announcement about the wedding soon, Ashmit reportedly revealed some interesting details about the romantic proposal. ‘ Apparently, the groom-to-be had all of it planned to perfection when he decided that he would ask his lady the question at the most romantic destination in the world – Paris. The invitations were extended to family, friends and loved ones and the venue was booked – the checklist was managed. And yet the proposal didn’t happen as per the plan but actually happened in Spain. Ashmit Patel and Maheck Chahal decided to take off to Europe to spend some lone time and before their ‘Paris’ proposal, they were halting in Spain and taking in the beauty of breathtaking location. Being a beach person, Maheck was more than impressed with the exotic blue waters, live music cafes, open streets etc. that Spain is known for and somehow the proposal turned out to be unplanned yet spontaneous for Ashmit. When his ladylove proclaimed that Spain ought to be one of the most romantic destinations in the world for her, Ashmit immediately decided to spin his plan and in an impulse, decided to do the proposal in Spain itself. So during their trip, Ashmit took Maheck to a quaint Belgian café in Spain and decided to take the help of the waiter. By excusing himself on the pretext of going to the bathroom, he explained the details to the waiter, as he eagerly awaited the arrival of a plate filled with strawberries as he hid the ring amidst that. Even though Maheck decided to push the plate towards him because she had a change of mind, Ashmit was more than happy to lift the bowl that covered the plate to show her the ring. But that wasn’t all. The funnier part was when he went down on one knee but forgot to propose. However, the proposal ended on a positive note and Maheck is all set to shift with her Mr. Right next month. As of now besides looking forward to shifting to his renovated apartment with the love of his life, Ashmit is also gearing up for a film with Maheck titled Nirdosh which also stars Arbaaz Khan in a prominent role. The wedding date of the couple is yet to be locked but they are expected to tie the knot in August or September end. Ashmit also expressed about how Maheck wants a traditional gurudwara wedding which they are planning to arrange in Europe, followed by a winter reception in Mumbai.
