For the first time ever, the Mallik brothers, Amaal and Armaan, are coming together on a music channel on television, to give an unplugged performance of their hits.

The duo is also amongst the youngest musicians to be featured on this programme, which has witnessed performances by music stalwarts, who are not just from India but abroad as well. Armaan says,

“This is a prestigious project and many legendary musicians from across the globe have been a part of this. Amaal adds, “It is great that we got a chance so early in our careers to present our music in such a beautiful format. From a composer’s point of view, it’s an honour to share the stage with greats like Shankar Mahadevan and Vishal Bhardwaj. I can’t explain the surreal feeling of playing my music live on a such a big stage.”

Talking about the show, which airs tonight at 8 pm, Armaan says, “It’s all done in a very cool way. We have changed the original compositions a little just for this format.” They will perform eight of Amaal’s tunes, including Bol Do Na Zara, Main Hoon Hero Tera, Main Rahoon Ya Na Rahoon and Sab Tera.

Armaan says, “Unplugged versions bring out the real essence of a song. Also, because we are not using heavy instruments, the song is not lost. We have used very organic instruments like the tabla, esraj, grand piano and acoustic guitar. The whole feel is so pure and raw.”
