It’s been a long wait claiming that winter is coming. but now, it’s finally here!

December global festivities mean family and holiday travel, and Google is marking the season with a new series of interactive Doodles about a family of birds traveling south.

If you are not feeling festive yet, Google ” s new doodle could probably do the needful.

The festive countdown started by Google is based on the essence of catching up with family and friends this season.

Larry Page and Sergey Brin, the founders of Google, came up with the concept of doodle after they tried to decorate the company’s logo to mark their attendance at the Burning Man festival in 1998. With an adorable slideshow doodle featuring two cute penguins and their parrot friends, the search engine has officially declared that they, like the many others across the world, are excited about December festivities and how!

“When you move your cursor on the first doodle, it springs up to life to say “‘Tis the season!”

The doodles will tell the story of penguins who jet off to warmer climes to spend the holidays with “warm-weather relatives”.

The penguins and parrots are also shown exchanging phone calls in one of the slides while another slide shows them reading mails and opening giant suitcases to explore their gifts.

With this, the search engine also joins in the celebrations around Christmas and New Year that have kick-started worldwide. The final panel hint at the series’ next installments – Dec. 25, Christmas Day, Dec. 31, New Year’s Eve, and finally, January 1, New Year’s Day.
