Before she carved a niche for herself in Bollywood, Taapsee Pannu was a household name in the South. The actress, who has appeared in a number of Tamil and Telugu films, continues to have a huge fan following down South. A leading publication reports that Taapsee has decided to hike her fee for her Bollywood ventures. She has reasoned that she brings the South audience to the theatres to watch her Hindi films, which is obviously an advantage for the makers. Hence, she is demanding the same fee that she commands down South. Taapsee is currently awaiting the release of her next film, Soorma, which will hit the theatres this Friday. Directed by Shaad Ali, the film will bring alive the story of Arjuna Award-winning hockey player Sandeep Singh (played by Diljit Dosanjh). Sandeep made a promising international debut in 2004, and went on to become one of the best drag-flickers in the world. However, two years later, tragedy struck while he was on his way to Delhi to join the national team, which was to leave for the 2006 World Cup in Germany. Sandeep was hit by a bullet, when the pistol of a Railway Protection Force officer accidentally went off inside the Shatabdi Express. Even though he was almost paralysed and restricted to a wheelchair, Sandeep was not one to get bogged down by his circumstances and lose hope. Fighting against all odds, he got back on his feet and made a stunning comeback in 2008.
