BMC has sent Priyanka a notice regarding illegal construction done at her Oshiwara office premise. She built unauthorized construction adjoining another commercial premise. The property on which she made construction has been rented out from Charisma Beauty Spa and Salon.

Against Priyanka, BMC also received five complaints. BMC after checking found that the construction which includes putting an unauthorized mezzanine floor that violates the rules. So, under the Maharashtra Regional Town Planning Act (MRTP) Act, BMC has sent two notices to the owners and occupants of both the premises and asked the owners to remove the illegal construction. If in one month, the owners won’t remove the illegal construction, BMC will demolish the complete structure.
“We earlier wrote them asking to regularize the unauthorized changed after paying the penalty and removed other illegal changes which cannot be approved. But they didn’t bother to pay any attention after which we sent them notice under the Maharashtra Regional Town Planning Act (MRTP). If they fail to reply on this, we will demolish the illegal construction at both the premises,” stated by a BMC senior official.

However, two days ago Visva Bharati University refused to grant permission for the on-campus shooting of Nalini which will go under production company of Priyanka Chopra. As per the Vice-Chancellor, Sabuj Koli Sen said: “We have come to the decision after discussing the script with all authorities concerned, including ashramites and experts on Tagore. We can’t allow the shoot of such films on the campus, it might hurt the sentiments of millions.”
