Amid protests and controversies, Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s period drama Padmaavat finally released worldwide on January 25. The film received much appreciation from not just the audience but the critics as well for being a visually brilliant cinematic experience.
Since the magnum opus film released last week, there’s no stopping it as it has already crossed 100 crore mark in its first weekend. On the very first night of the release, there was a special screening for the celebrities and close friends. Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali came together for the very first time to celebrate the success of the film.
As there had been no promotions before the release, it was the very first time all four of them were snapped together. The lead actors Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor cut the cake marking the celebration of their film’s release and the success of it.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat, which is based on Malik Muhammad Jayasi’s poem Padmavat, has become the first film of 2018 to enter the Rs 100-crore club.
