Back then, there were reports about Ram Leela starring Ranveer Singh and Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead roles. Well, Ranveer gladly accepted this opportunity but Kareena walked out of the film leaving Bhansali in trouble.
The ace director then turned to Priyanka Chopra which she happily agreed to do even after she knew that she was Kareena’s replacement and after all, it was SLB’s film. But it seems Deepika Padukone’s career was going to take a huge jump as Bhansali signed her in the last minute leaving PeeCee heartbroken.
Priyanka was obviously furious with the Devdas filmmaker. As per reports of a popular daily, casting PeeCee for Mary Kom was a task considering her bad rapport with SLB after Ram Leela. But keeping all the different things aside, Priyanka signed Mary Kom – a movie produced by SLB under his banner.
Sanjay Leela who is known for her generous nature was extremely impressed with PeeCee who agreed to sign Mary Kom, offered her a sensuous dance number Ram Chahe Leela in Ram Leela. The song turned out to be a rage and a blockbuster hit just like the movie. Priyanka also won several accolades for the same.
Well, all’s well that ends well! Today, both Priyanka and Deepika are doing well in their respective careers. While Priyanka will soon make her comeback with Bharat opposite Salman Khan, Deepika after delivering the hit Padmaavat will soon announce her next.
