She is talented, bold, unabashed and has a mind of her own. Meet Bollywood’s one of the most talked-about-actresses, Kangana Ranaut. If her stellar performances in films has got her adulation of critics and fans alike, controversies surrounding her personal life have made juicy headlines in tabloids.
When many B-Town actresses avoid to talk about their private lives, Kangana did not mince words discussing her past relationship with actor Hrithik Roshan. In fact, the diva has been unapologetic about her choices.
Despite all the curve balls thrown at her, the 31-year-old actress says that she’s happy the way her life has panned out.
In an exclusive interview to Cosmopolitan editor Nandini Bhalla, Kangana talks about how she never wanted to be an actress and how she is happy that she never married the men, she once wanted to.
Kangana, who hails from Himachal Pradesh, has made a big name for herself in Mumbai in the last 12 years that she has been in Bollywood. And she is happy with whatever life has given her.
“I am truly happy with what I get in life. In fact, whatever I have ever wanted has been so bad for me. Like, every time I wanted to get married to someone, I’m glad it didn’t happen and after a few years, I’ve always said, ‘Thank you, God, you saved me!’. You know, that sort of thing,” she said.
Kangana revealed that she was keen on getting into modelling, but life had other plans for her, and soon she made her Bollywood debut.
“Everything I wanted for myself, I always underestimated, in terms of the opportunities. Like, when I started out, I was only hoping to get some modelling jobs so I could show my parents that I could do it, but I was wildly rejected by the modelling world. And this has happened with so many things that I wanted. I was fighting for this house for the longest time, and when I couldn’t get it, I was crying and I was devastated only to find a house so fabulous, I wouldn’t have even thought about getting it. So, now I have realise that I don’t know enough, and I just sort of leave it to God, and I feel that God is being very kind to never grant me what I really wanted,” added the actress.
On the work front, Kangana is currently busy with the shooting of Mental Hai Kya with Rajkumar Rao.
