Leonardo DiCaprio, 45, has reportedly turned hero, as he and his friends just happened to be in the right place at the right time when they pulled a man to safety after falling from a cruise ship. The heroic act happened on 30 December, when the Oscar-winning actor was on holiday with friends and girlfriend Camila Morrone, The Sun reports.
Leonardo and his entourage were on a rented boat near St. Barts when they heard that a man had drunkenly fallen overboard from a Club Med yacht.
After hearing the emergency call, they set sail to help search.
Speaking to People, a source said: “Leo and his friends and their boat captain decided to join the search and their efforts resulted in helping save a man’s life.”
The man had been reportedly treading water for 11 hours.
Another source told The Sun: “The Club Med cruise worker had fallen overboard after too much alcohol and a long night.
“The captain of his ship sent out a panicked emergency message and Leonardo and his team agreed to look for the poor guy.
“They were the only responders, and his only chance of survival, despite being hours away.
They said that the man who fell overboard was “minuted from drowning” when he was found.
