Television anchor and actress Anasuya Bharadwaj won hearts with her performance in Ram Charan’s latest outing Rangasthalam. Now, the actress has bagged an important role in late YS Rajashekhara Reddy’s biopic titled Yatra with Mammootty in the lead.

According to multiple reports, Anasuya will play the role of a politician in Kurnool district. The politician played a key role when YSR was in power in Andhra Pradesh.

Yatra will see Mammootty playing the role of late AP CM YS Rajashekara Reddy. She will be sharing screen space with Mammootty in the biopic.

Directed by Mahi Raghav, the film has popular actors like Suhasini Mani Ratnam and Rao Ramesh essaying the role of Sabita Indra Reddy and KVP Ramachandra Rao in the biopic.

After the mammoth success of Savitri biopic Mahanati, Tollywood has a handful of biopics at different stages of production. Earlier, the poster of Yatra was unveiled and Mammootty reprised the role of YSR with perfection.

A grand set has been erected at a studio in uptown area in Hyderabad. Mammootty has joined the shoot recently. The makers will announce the release date in the coming months.
