Recently, reports confirmed that Priyanka Chopra has been confirmed to star opposite Salman Khan in ‘Bharat’. After a lot of speculations about the leading lady in the movie which also cited that there will be a fresh face who will be cast opposite the superstar, PeeCee has finally given a nod to ‘Bharat’. The stars will be collaborating with each other after a decade and the fans can’t seem to contain their excitement about this reunion.
Earlier when Priyanka was asked about her Bollywood projects, she had revealed that she wanted to sign a film which would be perfect for her to come back with after a two-year long hiatus from Hindi cinema. So looks like she found ‘Bharat’ as the perfect script as her comeback vehicle. However, did you know that Priyanka was offered two movies opposite ‘bhai’ in the past, but she refused to be a part of them?
Well, as per reports, Priyanka was the first choice for ‘London Dreams’ and ‘Main Aur Mrs Khanna’ but, unfortunately, she never signed the dotted lines. In an earlier media interaction she had revealed that she was offered ‘London Dreams’, but then she doesn’t know what happened after that and the makers were only speaking to her secretary. Coming to ‘Main Aur Mrs Khanna’, it was PeeCee who rejected the offer and eventually Kareena was signed for the same.
Apart from Priyanka, it is also reported that Katrina too will be a part of this project. ‘Bharat’ is an official remake of the 2014 South Korean film ‘Ode to My Father’.
Ali Abbas Zafar’s upcoming Salman Khan starrer ‘Bharat’ has been the talk of the town for a while now. The speculations about the female lead opposite Salman in the film have been most rampant. Finally, Priyanka has recently confirmed that she will be featuring as the female lead in the film.
According to the reports, Priyanka along with director Ali Abbas Zafar confirmed that ‘Bharat’ will star the ‘Desi Girl’ opposite the ‘Dabangg’ actor. Priyanka reportedly said that she is looking forward to working with Salman and Ali after a considerable time. The actress also thanked her well-wishers and fans who have been patient and supportive.
Confirming the same, Ali also reportedly stated that ‘Bharat’ will be PC’s homecoming to Bollywood. Priyanka is the biggest Indian artist globally today and a perfect fit for the film as she brings to the table her incredible talent and international appeal.
Salman Khan is all set to team up with director Ali Abbas Zafar for the third time for ‘Bharat’. The director always keeps the fans updated by sharing some pictures from the locations of the sets. Apart from this, the film is also in the news for its leading lady.
But looks like the leading lady of the film will be announced soon. A source close to the film revealed that the makers are in talks with two leading heroines and the discussions have been made. The makers are speculated to take the decision by the end of this week and the name of the final cast is expected to be announced early next month.
Earlier names like Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif have been linked up with the project. It will be interesting to see which actress bags the film.

‘Bharat’ is an official adaptation of a South Korean film titled ‘An Ode To My Father’. The story is about a man who gets separated from his family during the Korean war and how he manages to reunite with them. Produced by Salman’s brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri, ‘Bharat’ will hit the screens on Eid 2019.
