Australia regain the Ashes as Josh Hazlewood runs through England’s resistance

Australia defeated England by an innings and 41 runs in the third Test at the WACA on Monday to reclaim the Ashes with two matches to spare.

Australia dismissed England for 218 in their second innings before tea to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series.

Play finally recommenced after lunch on the fifth and final day after Monday’s entire first session was washed out by bad weather. Josh Hazlewood took a five-wicket haul and was ably supported by Nathan Lyon and Pat Cummins, who grabbed two wickets each. Dawid Malan’s fighting 54 was just not good enough for England. Steve Smith is Player of the match. Get full scores of Ashes third Test between Australia vs England, Day 5 here.
