Team India most successful across formats since January 1, 2015

Virat Kohli‘s Team India had a phenomenal 2017, winning almost everything that was there to be won, barring the Champions Trophy.

If the mishap against Pakistan in the Champions Trophy final and the T20I against Australia are ruled out, Kohli and later Rohit Sharma have guided India to series victories every time. (Virat Kohli unhappy with practice pitch in South Africa, asks for green wicket)

And this sensational year therefore , has made sure that India are the most successful side in the last three years (January 1, 2015 to January 1, 2018).

In the span of these 1,096 days, India have dominated world cricket. They made the semi-final of the 2015 World Cup in Australia-New Zealand as well as the World T20 in India a year later. They have won nine Test series and drew one. Out of the 12 bilateral series, India have won nine and lost three. One each to Bangladesh, South Africa and Australia — all of them have come in 2015. Since then, India are on a eight-series winning streak. Their form in T20I series have not been as great but the Men in Blue have still managed to win eight series, drawing two and losing three from 13 bilateral encounters. West Indies beat them twice while South Africa had got the better of Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s men back in 2015.

All in all since January 1, 2015, India have played 135 matches in all formats, winning 87, losing 36 and drawing nine and three matches resulted in no-results. They have a win per cent of 64.44.
