While Irrfan is currently shooting for Angrezi Medium in Udaipur, Kareena Kapoor Khan is all set to join him on the sets. According to reports, it has been confirmed that the Veere Di Wedding actress will be playing a cop in the sequel of the 2017 film. In an interview, the producer of Angrezi Medium revealed details about Kareena’s role in the film.
In an interview to an entertainment portal, Dinesh Vijan said, “Kareena is a great addition to our franchise. Angrezi Medium is a very special film, and I’m excited that she’s going to be a part of it. We wanted to introduce this character who would be taken forward in the franchisees to come, and she’s perfect for it.”
Talking about Kareena’s role in Angrezi Medium, he said, “Here she plays a cop, a role she’s actually never done before. We will be shooting in London this June, and it will be great to be back on set with her.”
In a recent interview, Kareena Kapoor expressed her excitement on working with Irrfan. Talking about her role, she said, “It’s a small but interesting part as I just wanted to go out of the comfort zone and do a movie which throws me into a different milieu and I would see how it goes. Whether its Homi (Adajania) or Irrfan and Deepak (Dobriyal), it’s a different world for me to be a part of.”
Directed by Homi Adajania, Angrezi Medium is the sequel of the 2017 film Hindi Medium. The director-actor duo is working together for the first time. The film has just gone on floors and stars Radhika Madan and Kareena Kapoor Khan in pivotal roles. Irrfan is playing Champak ji, owner of Ghasitaram Mishthan Bhandaar in a small town in Rajasthan.
