In her decade-long career, actor Shahana Goswami has worked with some of the most established names in Bollywood.

The actor, who was in films such as Rock On and Ru Ba Ru (2008), Break Ke Baad, Ra.One (2011), Heroine (2012), and Rock On 2 (2016), shared screen space with actors Shah Rukh Khan, Farhan Akhtar, Deepika Padukone, and Kareena Kapoor Khan, among others.

Asked if she ever felt apprehensive about working with these huge stars, Shahana says, “Why would there be any apprehension about working with talented people? There can be fear or nervousness, but I’ve never been apprehensive.”

The actor states that all these thoughts are there in one’s head only until they reach the sets. “And by the time you start working [on a project], you’re familiar with other actors. There’s a sense of comfort that you establish with them. So, I never really had that kind of a moment of being overwhelmed or feeling intimidated by my co-stars,” says Shahana.

Calling it the beauty of the entertainment industry, she adds, “You see, somewhere, even if you’ve been a big fan of people or you look up to them and respect their work, when you come on the job [on set], everybody becomes a colleague immediately. Thankfully, in my head, this switch happens very quickly.”

However, Shahana is quick to add that when she spends time alone, she does think and feel grateful for these things.

“When I look back, I do feel that it’s amazing that these people are my friends, I’ve worked with them, I know them and they’re a part of my career in some way. So, it’s fascinating, of course, from a distance,” she says, “but I don’t think there’s any inhibition when I’m working with them.”
