Her debut film, Dhadak, might not have hit the screens yet, but Janhvi Kapoor already has a sizeable fan following. She recently had a brush with the scary side of stardom while launching the title track of Dhadak at a mall in Jaipur, but her co-star Ishaan Khatter came to her rescue.

A source is quoted as telling a leading publication, “A fan came and asked Janhvi for a picture. After she posed and got the picture clicked, he kept insisting and following her. Ishaan noticed it and asked the man to stop misbehaving. He also made sure that Janhvi reached the car without any trouble.”

Janhvi and Ishaan are currently gearing up for the release of Shashank Khaitan’s Dhadak, which is slated to release on July 20. Dhadak is an adaptation of the critically acclaimed Marathi blockbuster, Sairat, which revolved around the ‘forbidden’ love between two people from different classes of society.

The trailer has received both love and hate on social media, and Janhvi opened up about how she deals with criticism in an exclusive interview with India Today Television.

“Of course it affects me. But up until this point it was like, if they’re going to criticise me for how I look while coming out of the gym, I don’t really care. But all of a sudden, now I’m a little more nervous because I am supposed to be good at this, right? This is what I’ve wanted to do. I want people to love me,” she said.

“The only thing that you can do is work hard and give it your all and hope that that’s enough. But usually, you never know. I think that the only thing I’m trying to do is honest work. I hope that one day I will deserve people’s love,” Janhvi added.
