Going by the reviews, Race 3 is one of Salman Khan’s worst films ever, but the 52-year-old actor is unfazed by the verdict. Because all that matters to him is the love of his fans and the box-office story. The action thriller, which released this Eid, has crossed the Rs 100-crore mark within its opening weekend, thus making it one of the biggest grossers of 2018 so far.

And this very success at the box office has left Salman more than pleased. According to a report in a leading daily, Salman is planning to put Dabangg 3 at the backburner for a while, and shoot for Race 4 prior to that.

Earlier, Salman was expected to shoot for Dabangg 3 along with Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat. But going by this latest piece of information, it seems that’s not happening anytime soon.

For anyone who has seen Race 3, the makers hint at a sequel towards the end of the film. And it seems Salman is keen to encash on the roaring success of Race 3.

“The team is already planning Race 4 which could get priority over the family film, Dabangg 3, which Prabhudheva is to direct for Salman Khans production house. But, Prabhu has to clear the decks in the South before he gets down to Dabangg 3 which wont be happening until the end of 2019. Race 4 may happen before that,” a close friend of Salman told the daily.

The report suggests that Race 4 will have the same star cast. However, the makers might have to look for a new director as Remo D’Souza has other commitments.

“Remo D’Souza, who directed Race 3, may not direct Race 4 as he is committed to direct a Varun Dhawan-Katrina Kaif starrer,” added the source.
