Indian cricketer, Ravindra Jadeja’s wife Reeva Solanki was physically assaulted by a police constable in Jamnagar which is situated in Gujarat. This scary incident happened on Monday that is the 21st of May.
Sanjay Ahir was the constable and he was the one who is said to have attacked Jadeja’s wife. He is not detained by the police. The witnesses present there at the moment said that the police officer pulled Solanki’s hair and slapped her two times. They also attempted to smash her face on the windshield.
If the sources are to be believed, Reeva left her home in the Jogger’s Park area of Jamnagar to do some shopping at Saru Section Road near the police headquarters and the collectorate office. The witnesses have also said that the police constable came from the wrong side on a Pulsar bike and fell after hitting Solanki’s BMW.
Post this, the eyewitnesses also said that Reeva rolled down her window and was about to ask the constable if he was alright. The cop who was in anger immediately lashed out and assaulted her.
“The policeman mercilessly thrashed Reeva and even pulled her hair during an altercation. We saved her from his clutches,” said Vijaysinh Chavda to PTI.
Solanki was rushed immediately to a nearby hospital. The Superintendent of Police of Jamnagar met her and escorted her back to take her statement.
Jadeja’s wife was attacked by a policeman. Sanjay Kurangiya who is police constable with Jamnagar police was coming out of the headquarters. His gates were open on the roadside. Reeva Solanki was in her car. They had an argument and the policeman attacked Reeva physically. From this, Reeva suffered small bruises and it is not serious. She registered a police complaint. The policeman was arrested on the spot.
The reports say that the eyewitnesses near the accident site, say that it was a minor one and the policeman reacted violently.
