Ekta Kapoor turns 42 today, announces her two upcoming shows

The queen who rules Television industry ‘Ekta Kapoor’ turns 42 today. She is known for bringing the daily soap culture in India. Daughter of Jitendra Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor is a big name in the Television and film industry. No matter how busy her schedule is she manages to make time for her family and friends. It is also the reason that she is closest friends of many celebrities in the industry.


Her love for nephew Laksshya is infinite. Both Ekta and Laksshya celebrate their birthday in the month of June. Ekta calls Laksshya and her as Gemini twins and also keeps on saying how she and Laksshya are similar to each other. “If there’s anything that’s most important in my life, then that’s Laksshya. Every day, he does something new and we all look forward to that. I miss him every time I’m travelling on work. You know, the Laksshya of my life now is to look after Laksshya.”

She is also coming with a horror show on Star Plus for the very first time. Ekta calls herself a fan of Ramsay. She said in an interview about her new show “Qayamat Ki Raat is a horror -sci-fi show. It is about a girl and a village. I am very inspired by the great movies made in South India like Arundhati.” The teaser of this show is out and actors Vivek Dahiya and Karishma Tanna are playing the main leads.

She is also coming with ‘Dil Hi Toh Hai’ on Sony TV. Talking about the show she said “Dil Hi Toh Hai is in the Kapoor and Sons space though it is not as radical. It is about an urban and emancipated family. On the show, we will mothers and teen daughters have a conversation, girls talking to parents about boyfriends and the issues that a son has due to trauma. The hero is a complex character. We are all products of our childhoods. It is what a modern family drama should be.”

Seems like Ekta Kapoor has no plans to take a break from her career and age is just a number for this leading lady of Television who is becoming a renowned filmmaker as well. Her recent project ‘Veere Di Wedding’ is getting appreciation from the audience.
