Actress Mouni Roy is one of the most famous Television celebrity. Her show Naagin was a big hit and audience liked watching her in that avatar. She is no less than a Bollywood diva. Ekta Kapoor is now going to launch her in a different avatar. Mouni Roy has signed Alt Balaji’s new show ‘Mehrunissa’.
Mehrunissa is a show based on the royal Mughal queen ‘Nur Jahan’ who was Also known as ‘Mehrunnisa’. She was the wife of Akbar’s son Salim who later on became famous as Jahangir. Alt Balaji revealed the news of her working in Mehrunissa through their Instagram account. She shared a picture saying the preparation has started and was in a reading session with Ken Ghosh.
Mouni Roy also known for her fit and well-toned body is all set to entertain her fans as a queen. Mehrunissa didn’t belong to a royal family and was a widow when Salim met her. Whether its dance, acting, fitness or fashion, Mouni is winning hearts and her increased fan following is proof of it. Ekta Kapoor was excited to know the results of a poll on Mehrunissa posted by AltBalaji. It got 56% votes which seem like audience wants to see Mouni as Mehrunissa.
Mouni is also making her Bollywood debut with Akshay Kumar’s movie. She is also starring in movie ‘Brahmastra’ along with Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor. It is not the first time a TV celebrity is entering Bollywood. Actor Sushant Singh Rajput, Ayushmann Khurrana and Jay Bhanushali have shown their talent on silver screen.
After giving many hit shows, it would be interesting to see Mouni become a successful actress in Indian Film Industry.
