The official statement is out! IFTDA (Indian Film And Television Directors Association) has just released a statement confirming Navjot Singh Sidhu’s removal from The Kapil Sharma Show and has also mentioned the termination of all his services with Sony Entertainment channel. This decision has come in response to Navjot Singh Sidhu’s ‘unsavory comments’ on the Pulwama terror attack. The 55-year old politician and Television personality said that a nation cannot be held responsible for the acts of terrorists and that terrorism had no religion. This was enough to hurt the sentiments of Indians who slammed him for supporting Pakistan and its Prime Minister Imran Khan who happens to be Sidhu’s long-time friend.

Although Sidhu tried to justify and also got a strong support from Kapil Sharma who held a press conference to state, “These are very small things, or can also be a part of propaganda. I feel banning someone or sacking Navjot Singh Sidhu from the show is not the solution. We need to look for a permanent solution.”However, looks like IFTDA has taken the final call and has also made it clear that apart from Navjot’s termination, the committee has sweared to never ever work with any of the Pakistani artistes again.

With Navjot Singh Sidhu being removed from The Kapil Sharma Show, it’s left to see who will step into his shoes as his replacement and how will Kapil react to this. Stay tuned to this space for more updates.
