Mumbai: Bollywood filmmaker Subhash Ghai known for films like ‘Karz’, ‘Hero’, ‘Karma’, ‘Saudagar’, ‘Khalnayak’, ‘Pardes’ and ‘Taal’, celebrated his 73rd birthday recently (24th January). His ‘Taal’ leading lady Aishwarya Rai Bachchan surprised the director by dropping at Ghai’s acting institute Whistling Woods to wish him on a very special day.

The director shared the picture on Twitter and wrote, “How real friends surprise u is always a treat. So did my favourite star ashwarya rai bachchan by her surprise presence on eve of my birthday in a surprise party by my team @Whistling_Woods @MuktaArtsLtd @MuktaA2Cinemas on 24 January She is always gracious indeed.”

Superhit musical film ‘Taal’ is surprisingly the only movie the duo has worked on together. Will the duo think of coming back on-screen to make ‘Taal 2’ ?

Ghar has earlier stated his stand on change in the cinema today. Talking about the drastic change in filmmaking he said that films earlier used to convey a message but now it is not like that. He said that in today’s era the approach towards filmmaking has changed a lot.

Aishwarya is currently busy with director Atul Manjrekar’s ‘Fanne Khan’ alongside her ‘Taal’ co-star Anil Kapoor. The film also has Rajkummar Rao in the lead role. Produced by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, it is slated to release on 15 June 2018.
